Dre' Bly To Make Appearance at Longfellow Middle School

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- On Tuesday, (Sept. 26) Lions' cornerback Dre' Bly will make an appearance at Longfellow Middle School (14131 Rosa Parks Blvd, Detroit, MI 48238) in an event dubbed "Dre' Day at Longfellow". Bly is scheduled to make his appearance from10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with media interviews available from 11:15 – 11:30 a.m.

The event is on behalf of Bly’s foundation, "The Dre' Bly Foundation", which has adopted Longfellow Middle School for the football season and school year. Bly’s foundation and the school’s principal are working together to create incentives to inspire the students to achieve excellence during the school year.

Longfellow was chosen by the foundation as the recipient of the "Dre' Bly Playmakers Program," which was set up to give kids the opportunity to experience the excitement of attending a Lions home game at Ford Field.

"Dre'Day at Longfellow" will feature an assembly at the school, where Bly plans to talk to the students about the things his foundation has planned for the school year. He will then present the school with Lions' home game tickets for the remainder of the 2006 NFL season, as well as a special gift. Bly also plans to have lunch with the students, tour the school and challenge a lucky student to a game of chess to kick off his foundation’s adoption of the school.
