The Inaugural Dre' Bly Celebrity Golf Classic was held on May 28th, 2006, at The Preserve Golf Club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, bringing Dre' and many prominent stars from the NFL, NBA, and University of North Carolina family together with members of the community for a weekend of fundraising, golf, and inspiration.
The event heralded by all in attendance as a success, was able to raise money for two worthy causes, The Dre' Bly Foundation and CarolinaPros Inc. The Dre' Bly Foundation is dedicated to promoting physical fitness, and the concept of a healthy body and healthy mind. The foundation also helps schools retain and develop after-school programs and acquire athletic equipment. CarolinaPros Inc. is an organization of former Tar Heel basketball lettermen who are committed to helping others through health, education, and economic development initiatives.
